I just returned from the Ragan Communications Social Media for Communicators Conference in Atlanta. My mind continues to swim with dozens of great ways to use social media as a means to reach potential audiences – all within the realm of public relations.
My primary takeaway from the conference was the integration of social media in all aspects of PR – no matter how obscure it might seem.
The conference was a gold mine of ideas. I thought I knew quite a bit about social media, but WOW – some of the speakers were leaps and bounds ahead of me. I was very glad, of course, to absorb as much as possible. My favorite speakers were David Pogue, the personal technology columnist for The New York Times, Shel Holtz of Holtz Communications + Technology, Kami Huyse of My PR Pro, and Terry McKenzie of the Fibonacci Design Group.
In coming weeks, I’ll blog about their content – and much more related to social media.
